Pinot noir is arguably the most charismatic of all grape varieties, and without doubt the hardest to get right. When it works, though, it's sublime. No other grape has the same power of seduction, from its naturally delicate colour to the charming raspberry and cherry notes of a young pinot noir, through to the more gamey aromas that appear with age.

Join us in Mercato Metropolitano’ wine cellar on our journey through the world of Pinot Noir, where you’ll approach every expect of how origin, soil, latitude, and climate conditions contribute to each wine’s diversity.

Join us at:

Wine List

  • Van Hunks MCC Rose – COASTAL REGION, SOUTH AFRICA - Joyful, rich pink colour, vivacious cascading bubbles and the full rich flavour of Pinot Noir, combined with the elegance of Chardonnay and the uniqueness of Pinotage.

  • Passing Giants – MARLBOROUGH, NEW ZEALAND - Darkly exotic allspice of the nose to the refreshing plum and milky cherry-chocolate generosity of the palate.

  • Glen Castelfeder – TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE, ITALY – This wine shows the best that this region has to offer, this Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) has spice and smoke complimenting red fruit aromas and a pleasant tannic structure.

  • Domaine Moreau Bourgogne Rouge – BURGUNDY, FRANCE - Light red ruby colour. The nose shows small red berry aromas of strawberries and cherries, typical of Pinot Noir. The mouth is delicate, supple, and full. It becomes gentle and softer when ageing.

  • Cadus Signature Series – UCO VALLEY, ARGENTINA – A beautiful expression on how altitude (1400m above sea level) influences this varietal in this region - where vineyards climb up the slopes of glacier.
